Privacy Policy

Tablemate is a small, independently-run app for planning your household's weekly dinners. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password — it's run through a one-way hash before it touches the database), and the display name you choose.
- Household data: the dinner plans you and your household members enter, and which household your account belongs to.
- Preferences: your light/dark theme choice.
- Push notifications (optional): if you turn these on, we store the subscription details your browser/device gives us so we can send you a dinner reminder. We don't send anything else through this channel.
- Basic technical logs: standard web server logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) kept briefly for security and troubleshooting — for example, to detect repeated failed login attempts.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers.
- We don't run ads or third-party analytics/tracking scripts.
- We don't use your data for anything beyond running the app itself.
Who can see your data
Your household's dinner plans are visible to every account in that same household (that's the point — it's a shared planner). They are not visible to other households or to the public.
Where it's stored
Data is stored on a self-hosted server operated by the developer. It is not hosted by a large third-party cloud provider.
Account deletion
There's no self-service "delete my account" button yet. To request your account and data be deleted, email pretoriusheins@gmail.com and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
